This document is intended to provide an agreed range of assessment domains whether the assessment is an ‘early help assessment’ or a ‘statutory assessment’ undertaken under statutory guidance. It is intended to provide the practioner with an understanding of what factors need to be understood within the assessment, and practice pointers when considering the domains of the assessment.

Thresholds of Need
The NTSCB Threshold document provides clear criteria for taking action and providing the right help at the right time to children, young people and their families in order to effectively meet their needs. The different levels show how professionals and the organisations they work for should work together to offer the right kind of help and protection at the right time.
In addition Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust in collaboration with Children’s Social Care, North Tyneside Council have developed thresholds guidance in relation to unborn children specifically for practitioners working with pregnant women.
